Who will be King of the Mountain…

Posted on 25th August 2009 by Team Neaves

The next race on the Peter Best Insurance Challenge calendar is Cadwell Park on Saturday 5th September. They don’t call it the ‘Mini Nurburgring’ for nothing, Cadwell is a mighty track that sorts the men from the boys – or should that be sorts the fathers from the sons…

Its worth mentioning that the title of this post is no coincidence as the best driver at Cadwell is awarded the coveted ‘King of the Mountain’ award at the end of the season. But with defending King Simon ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson AWOL it’s anyone’s to take! Top contenders are Simon Cripps, Dan Ludlow and er, Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

Team Neaves have been very busy since Mallory, unfortunately not with the cars but mainly with winding each other up! ;) Blaine and Ollie can often be heard goading each other – if you ask me Blaine is getting a bit worried and Ollie is getting a bit cocky. As for Dan, whilst he now has a decent first race under his belt he will be looking to join the family feud up at the front. In order to do this he has been reliably informed he’ll need to ‘grow a bigger pair’.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Dan and Ollie have used their savings to buy a special can of ‘Whoop-Ass’ that they’ll be opening at Cadwell. This is all well and good but will it help them? Probably not, Mallory was where Dan and Ollie did their ARDs so that is probably why Ollie was right on the pace – we expect it to be a different story at the ‘Mini Nurburgring’.

‘Dallas County’ is another name for Cadwell which has a nice ring to it, yes Chief Scruteneer Dallas will undoubtedly be there again as this is his home track. So make sure your car is on the weight and all in order, including working engine stop chords – Mr Montego ;)

Going back to Mallory – for those interested there are some photo’s of the damage to Blaine’s car in practice, we call it WheelerGate.

Hopefully those with car troubles at Mallory have been able to get them resolved – Jonesey, Legs and Rob Beasley. If not get commenting on here as I’m sure someone will be able to help!

As usual expect to see two thirds of Team Neaves down on the Friday night, hopefully the Bikers will be there having a party again as it was a good laugh last year!

See you there.
