So, I still haven’t found a roof, nor have I managed to get Old Rusty sprayed. However, I have had success in finding lots of nice bits, none of which I can fit yet…
The paint prep is almost complete, and the roll cage should be with me next week. After paint and the roll cage fitting it should start to move pretty quick. As you can see from the pictures I have most of the parts for the conversion, plus the all important engine – which will go straight in the car, having only done 15k since a rebuild. Luckily I already have a gearbox, meaning the running gear is all but taken care of.
I managed to pick up the seat and brackets at a reasonable price from Cobra’s end of year sale. But surely the pièce de résistance has to be the fuel tank and swirl pot. They look awesome and are very well made. Incidentally if you are interested in acquiring similar please let me know…
Keep an eye out for further progress reports, I have the feeling it’ll all be getting quite busy very soon!
